Description
AuDHD and the People Around Me Thursday 15th October
AuDHD doesn’t exist in a vacuum. We have partners, families, friends, colleagues – people who love us but may not always understand us and whom we don’t always understand either.
This session is about communication, relationships, and the messy reality of being an AuDHD person in a world built for neurotypical brains. We’ll explore AuDHD communication styles: why we might overshare, withdraw, misread tone, or feel like we’re constantly performing in social spaces.
We’ll take a deep dive into RSD – Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria – what it is, why it happens so intensely for AuDHD people, and how to manage it without shutting down or lashing out. We’ll talk about the social battery: how it drains differently for us, how to manage it without guilt, and how to repair relationships when misunderstandings happen.
You’ll leave with frameworks for difficult conversations, strategies for asking for help with needs that have previously been hidden behind masking, and a better understanding of how to build relationships that actually work for your neurotype.
What you’ll learn:
